The Fact DNA Small Fiber Neuropathy Genetic Test evaluates up to two genes associated with small fiber neuropathy (SFN), a form of peripheral neuropathy that primarily affects the small nerve fibers responsible for pain, temperature, and certain autonomic functions.
Small fiber neuropathy may cause symptoms such as burning, tingling, numbness, or episodes of significant nerve pain, often beginning in the hands or feet and potentially progressing to other areas of the body.
